Gymnastics on the Grand - This weekend!

posted November 27, 2012 by Moms in Tow

Do you have a little one at home who had his or her eyes glued to the TV during the Summer Olympics Gymnastics Competition this summer? If so, take them to Gymnastics on the Grand this weekend so they can experience the excitement in real life!

Gymnastics on the Grand will be held November 30 – December 2 at the DeVos Place Convention Center (303 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503). This three day event sanctioned by USA Gymnastics will host more than 1500 gymnasts, both boys and girls, from the Midwest region, and bring in thousands of spectators to the Grand Rapids area.

To celebrate the success of the United States in this summer’s Olympic Games, Grand Rapids Gymnastics is proud to announce two special guests will be on-site during the Invitational: three-time Olympian John Roethlisberger, and 2008 Olympic Silver Medalist, Alicia Sacramone! Throughout the weekend, there will be autograph sessions with the Olympians and you can hear John speak about what motivated him as an athlete.

"This year's Gymnastics on the Grand will be the most exciting yet. Athletes from all over the region will be in attendance with their families to compete and enjoy beautiful downtown Grand Rapids" says Shane Uson, owner and head coach of Grand Rapids Gymnastics. "With the exciting win by the U.S. women's gymnastics team this summer at the London Olympics, the sport of gymnastics is more popular than ever. More than 1,500 athletes will perform in front of record crowds. Come check out the heart and determination of these athletes and get inspired by meeting former Olympians John Rothleisberger and Alicia Sacramone."
